With 15 years experience Repairing and Restoring Antique and Classic Wooden Boats, we have learned the ins and outs of wooden structure and the effects of the elements.
In the design and engineering of our "Marine Grade" chairs we have incorporated this knowledge. We have chosen Cherry, a beautiful native hardwood which has very good resistance to decay and is very strong and less susceptible to racking or twisting which can open joints and allow moisture to enter thus causing rot to occur. All of the hardware used is stainless steel and all screw holes are counter sunk, filled with glued plugs and sanded fair. All pieces of the chair are finished before assembly, elimination any dry joints. These are common practices of wooden boat construction.
Our Sikkens Cetol-SRD ® finish is highly UV and weather resistant. This is essential for year round outdoor furniture. This finish is easily applied for for proper maintenance and an elegant look.
Other features of our chairs are the very comfortable curved back and seat design, and higher position of the seat to make the chairs easy to get in and out of.
